HOW TO GET SMOOTH CLEAR SKIN??

by schmedes2 on May 10, 2010

I\'ve usually got 2-4 pimples at a time, a mess of blackheads on my nose, and I\'ve got fairly blotchy skin. I\'m currently using clean and clear (but it obviously not working). I\'ve got sensitive skin so it works best with gel. I\'m not willing to paying for contraptions like blackhead erasers and nothing too expensive. And lastly, something that i can get at a drugstore. Im not interested in Proactive and Skin ID stuff. :l thanks I said I want to buy it at a drug store. I\'M NOT SHOPPING ONLINE

Exactly the same as yours truly!

Okay, one or twice a week (and at night so that you are ready to be looking your best in the morning), boil the kettle and place the hot water in a bowl. Grab a towel, and place it over your head, leaning over the bowl so that your face is in the steam (NOT THE WATER). If you feel that this is not enough, you can add one or two drops of PURE essential oils, such as lavender, tea tree, etc. This opens up the pores and flushes away impurities. After this, spray your face with witch hazel (or wipe with cotton balls). This will tighten the pores now that they are clean, hence preventing dirt from invading. This works really well for blackheads.

If you feel that your face is a little to dry or ‘strectched’ from the witch hazel, apply a simple moisturiser… nothing to drastic.

Day-to-day: witch hazel every morning and regular moisturiser.

Nighttime: always remove make-up, and wipe face with wet, hot cloth to remove the day’s dirt. Rose hip oil is good to apply now.

For emergencies: apply slightly beaten egg whites to remove redness, aloe vera juice for dryness or nasty scabs.

I’ve also found that tea tree oil is good for drawing out any pus or fluid that may still be in a pimple (you know, the hard ones that just won’t go away!).

I reccomend this, http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-Scrub-Your-Nose-In-It-125ml_46322/ At first it does seem expensive but I had some for Christmas and I’ve still got at least half of the bottle left, use it about 2 – 3 times a week depending on how your skin feels. It deffinently clears up the blotchy skin and reduces the look of pimples. It’s the best thing I’ve ever used on my face. But you do need to mosituriser after so try to find a moisturiser that isn’t too greasy if you’ve got sensative skin.

Well, ive heard proactive works but mostly, it stops working after a few months but it really depends on the compatibility of your skin and the product.
now, let me tell you that to get a good clear skin you gotta either:
1.) Have the genes. Skin conditions can be genetic, and that means that if your family has a history of good, clear skin with mild pimples, then there’s a chance that youll get lucky.
OR
2.) you gotta spend some extra cash there mate. the thing is, as you mentioned, you have a sensitive skin. having such situation, you cannot just reply on over the counter products because sensitive skins need extra care. the best is to actually consult a dermatologist, the dermatologist knows better on what ingredients may be suitable for your skin type.

unless if you wanna continue spending it cheap, then good luck with experimenting and experiencing certain effects on your face. sorry thats just how it goes. either spend, or stay cheap and risk it.

i agree with one of the answers…if you want clear skin and its important to you, spend the money.

try one of the patricia wexler lines @ bath and body works. they have a line for sensitive skin and acne. I get blemishes/breakouts on my chin and patricia wexler skincare helped, A LOT. i was trying to clear my acne and got anti aging by mistake and it still cleared my acne.

When i’m on a budget i use cetaphil (like someone mentioned) and drink plenty of water. I also exfoliate with a light scrub (aveeno radiance) daily (before bed) to remove excess dirt and make up.

Honestly, the patricia wexler line is awesome. Im going through a cheap period (using cetaphil and aveeno) but still use the patricia wexler spot treatment, which is my pimple savior. put it on a zit right before bed and wake up in the morning with it gone or damn near close to gone.
